Advanced Design of Experiments (VPL2)

Training course objectives 

This methods course offers an in-depth insight in modern methods of statistical design of experiments and serves to support our product training courses. Our methods courses are designed to be software-independent, and are also suitable for interested parties who do not work with the Statistica program.

Target group

This course addresses specialists in industrial companies who also want to apply complex procedures of statistical design of experiments in the field of research and development or quality assurance.

Course contents 

This course for participants with basic knowledge of statistical design of experiments offers a practice-oriented introduction to more complex procedures of design and evaluation of experiments.

The subjects

  • Multi-level qualitative factors
  • Block designs, Latin squares and BIBD‘s
  • Nested plans and split-plot designs
  • Plans for after-effects and periodic effects
  • Crossed array designs according to Taguchi
  • Simplex plans for mixing ratios
  • Optimal design criteria
  • Random effects and covariates
  • Transformations of the target quantity

The training consists of a short explanation of the mentioned procedures and the independent induction of the training participants within the scope of exercises. Examples in our standard courses are generally understandable data sets from different application areas.

Requirements

This method course requires knowledge provided by the course "Introduction to Statistical Design of Experiments" (VPL1) and basic knowledge of statistics.
