In June 2025, Spotfire released version 14.5 as an innovation release that offers many new features. Some of the most interesting ones are listed below:
- Visualizations can now be configured in a new dialog box. This provides improved configuration options for web-based visualizations and allows multiple visualizations to be configured simultaneously.
- Custom symbols can now be used in Map Plots, allowing brand-specific elements like buildings or map markers to be displayed effectively. Symbols support various sizes and can be distributed through the Spotfire Library.
- Parquet format (an efficient data format for storing large amounts of data) is now supported.
- Improvements in Single-Sign-On functionality.
- Better Snowflake integration.
- Action Mods received many enhancements.
For Spotfire Data Science:
- Addons bundle functionality for various industries and use cases. Users of Spotfire Data Science can select and install Addons. Addons are supported by regular Spotfire support.
- At launch, Addons are available for the Oil&Gas industry (includes Well spacing diagrams), Semiconductor production (includes Wafer maps), and general-purpose Addons for time series processing and handling missing data.
For Spotfire Enterprise:
- Improved features for license distribution and control.
- Extensive monitoring of server status.
These are just a few examples of the many new features included in this release, making it an exciting update for many users.
