The aim of this methodology course is to introduce the concepts, terminology and methods of data mining. Our method courses are designed to be software-independent and are also suitable for users who do not work with statistics.
This course is aimed at project managers and qualified specialists in service or industrial companies who wish to evaluate their data using modern data mining techniques.
The course provides an overview of the idea and meaning of data mining, the art and science of learning from data. Individual data mining tools are examined in more detail and their significance for different analysis tasks is explained. The basic methodology of all the techniques presented is explained and illustrated using practical examples. The topics:
We offer this training in cooperation with our partner Statoo Consulting. Trainer is the statistician Dr. Diego Kuonen, CStat PStat CSci, CEO and CAO of Statoo Consulting, lecturer at the University of Geneva and president of the Swiss Society of Statistics. The course is designed to be software-independent and cross-industry. Participants will receive a printed manual in English with all course slides.
The course requires basic knowledge of statistics and experience with multiple linear regression.
For participants without sufficient previous knowledge, we offer our method courses "Introduction to Statistics - Part 1" and "- Part 2" (STA1, STA2), and the method courses "Efficient Data Management" (EDM) and "Data Mining in Practice" (PDM) to further deepen data management and data mining procedures. For practical implementation, we recommend the product courses "Statistica Introduction" (STE) and "Statistica Data Miner" (SDM).
